    Select files to compress

    Select the file(s) or folder(s) you want to compress in Windows Explorer.

    Open the archive dialog

    Right-click and choose "7-Zip" > "Add to archive...".

    Choose archive format

    Select the format: 7z for best compression, ZIP for maximum compatibility, or others as needed.

    Set compression level

    Choose the compression level: Store (no compression), Fastest, Fast, Normal, Maximum, or Ultra. Higher levels compress more but take longer.

    Adjust advanced settings

    For 7z format, you can choose the compression method (LZMA2 recommended), dictionary size, word size, and solid archive settings for better ratio.

  6. 6

    Create the archive

    Click OK to start compression. The archive appears in the same folder as your source files.
